Optical commonly used thread size standard

This is the unique thread of Thorlabs in the United States, not the commonly used optical thread. SM is the code for the thread of the sewing machine in terms of thread expression, but this company in the United States uses it to connect the internal and external threads of the optical lens and the sleeve. The nature of the thread is UNS, and the United States has a special thread with a tolerance accuracy of 2A / 2B. The special place of this thread is 40 teeth per inch regardless of the diameter.

(2) The adjustment frame can provide ±3° pitch and tilt adjustment for the optical element. Pitch and tilt adjustments are actuated by three 100 TPI ("TPI": Threads per Inch) adjustment screws to achieve smooth, high-resolution motion. These adjusters have a locking collar design and detachable knobs;

(3) MC-S2 is SM2 (2.035"-40) thread, including 1 SM2 snap ring and 1 Ø2" washer to fix the optics; in contrast, MC-S2A uses nylon head fixing screws to fix the optics. Use a 2mm hexagon wrench or a balldriver to fix the optical element;

(4) Compatible with Ø2" (Ø50.8mm) optical elements installed on the adjustment frame; MC-S2 can install thinner optical elements (thickness not exceeding 6.5mm) MC-S2A is designed to install thicker optical components (minimum thickness is 5mm);

(5) There are 4 Ø6mm through holes on the surface of the adjustment frame, which are compatible with our PCM-S cage rods, and the side includes four fixing screws. Use a 1.5mm hexagon wrench or a balldriver to tighten the fastening screws to fix the cage rods. Fix it in place;

(6) There are M4 threaded holes on each of the three sides, which can be installed with post for free space construction;
