Optical commonly used thread size standard

This is the unique thread of Thorlabs in the United States, not the commonly used optical thread. Description

(1) The right-angle adjustment frame provides pitch and deflection adjustment for the Ø1" (short axis 25.4mm) elliptical optical element fixed in the mounting plate. The adjustable pitch and tilt adjustment plates on these cubes are actuated by three 100 TPI ("TPI": Threads per Inch) adjustment screws to achieve smooth, high-resolution motion. Among them, two adjusters have detachable knobs, and the third one must be adjusted with a 2mm hexagon wrench or a balldriver.

(2) The clip on the mounting plate is used to fix the Ø1" (minor axis 25.4mm) oval optical element. Tighten the screw to fix the clip above the oval lens. The rear-mounted design ensures that even if a cage rod or lens tube is installed on the adjustment frame, the installed optical components can still be operated. These mounts are designed to mount optical components with a thickness of 4-10mm.

(3) KCD1L series is used to install Ø1" round and elliptical optical elements. Because the mounting plate is at a 45° angle to the standard horizontal position, this hole has a gap cutout, which can provide the largest clear aperture for any transmitted light. And provide space for operating the installed optical components. The difference between elliptical and circular clear apertures is that the mounting frame for elliptical optics has a larger clear aperture, while the Ø1" round lens can only form about half of the clear aperture.

(4) There are SM1 (1.035"-40) threaded holes at the port and four 6.3mm deep Ø6mm smooth holes, their spacing matches our 30mm cage system standard. The cage rod can be passed through the set screws on the side of the mounting seat Use a 2mm hexagon wrench or a balldriver to fix it. This design allows multiple 30mm cage components to be directly connected.

(5) There is an M4/M6 threaded hole on each side, which can be installed with Ø12mm post and Ø1" post for free space construction.
